Here’s Mastercard’s new one. Compared with the horrendous noise that current accompanies the “remove card” message at some places, this is actually quite pleasing to the ear, but not exactly sure if it fits such an old, established business. Which of these corporate audio signatures do you like/hate?
Netflix’s is quite good.
BMW’s is lame. Dislike.
Audi’s is okay, but not great.
And who can forget “chicken parm you taste so good”? But more of a true jingle than a signature/logo.

There is a local grocery store that has a nic e “ding ding” like a bicycle bell, with a sign ature pad that actually records it.
Meanwhile target and most other ones I’ve encountered are “er er” which come off as so harsh, I feel like I did something wrong.

THX. Because there’s no better way to get people to remember your brand then to traumatise young children who are just trying to watch Finding Nemo on DVD.
And if you have certain Lincolns with the THX-certified sound system, you can get it in your car.

There’s a great 20k hz episode about the THX sound. Totally worth a listen (as are most episodes, if you ask me)

Are those really BMW’s and Audi’s sonic signatures? They’re... terrible.
Netflix’s is definitely on the better end of the scale, as is Amazon’s, I think:

And here’s a great episode of one of my favorite podcasts, 20k hz, about car sounds.

The netflix sound is fine the first time, but after the 10th time, I don’t ever want to hear it again. It’s the bane of binge -watching.

Yeah, I hate to think how much they spent on them.
You’re right - Amazon’s is pretty good, too.
Thanks for the link, and for the podcast recommendation!

Isn’t it amazing how this seemingly minor thing can really effect your perception of the whole buying experience?
