They said it was going to start raining around 6 or 7pm. Well not only is it NOT raining, but it’s snowing heavily and sideways, as we have a bizarre constant wind at the moment. Looks like four new inches already.
Tomorrow will hit 41 degrees, and the roads will be sloppy but usable after 11am. I admit it’s been real nice cooking with my wife the last week, walking in the snow, and having a nice drink as I stare out at the white canvas.
This has also not helped my desire for obtaining a nice truck-UV someday. My neighbor up the road owns a modified Rang Rover Classic and it just laughs at all this. Meanwhile, a little Jetta got stuck in front of our house, and this road was actually plowed THREE times today! Took out the Not-a-Corolla to run some quick errands, and wow my respect for that thing has skyrocketed. Zero issues driving it the last week and a half.
Thanks for indulging my posts. I’ve lived in this region my entire life, and have never seen anything like this, so the novelty of it all has been near overwhelming. But nothing bad happened, we we’re fully prepared — outside of having no snow shovel — and I had a good time.

We must have just traded winters. Despite the dumping that SLC got, all that’s happened at my house is a couple inches every few days and it almost all melts within 24 hours. Then the weatherman says to expect more snow and it rains.

Preferrably after some fleet updates.
... So, 2027, maybe.

I’ve been impressed by your dedication to shoveling without a proper snow shovel. I did that one time (for a couple of inches of snow) and then had Amazon send a snow shovel to the desert.

Meanwhile, we’re getting snow here since it’s not -40 and I have a 250 kilometre drive tomorrow. This is going to be fun.

My shop night shift is wrapping up early. I cleaned my car off 3 times since clocking in. And the snow really likes to accumulate more on the sides of my car than on top. Fuck me, right?
I head home a little after 11.

I enjoyed seeing the snow y’all got, after the forecasts mostly fizzled out here.

X mode on the Subaru was amazing, especially since I didn't have snow tires.

I know you’re not, but it really feels like you’re rubbing it in. Snow might be my favorite thing, of all the things.

Update: I got home just now...and I got stuck in the apartment parking lot! Had to sweep away a trench for the right side tires. TracLoc did the rest of the work.
I don’t particularly have a lot of fondness for the wet kind of snow...but I did enjoy bombing down Evergreen at 40MPH without issues (limit is 35). Also got to do a drift onto US 2 when I was leaving work in Monroe, which was pretty fun, too.
Note the “crackled” snow in the tire tracks, that was where my tires were having issues. Blizzaks may be good in the snow and ice, but no tire can handle snow that’s as deep as half the tire’s diameter. (You can see the depth to the right of the car...)

Turned to rain around 8pm in Bellevue, now it is a slushy mess. I drove in to work at my normal time - not the most fun driving, but no issues, maybe as I have AWD and like to think I am at least marginally competent.

A co-worker who lives in a hilly area between Renton and Maple Valley just texted me - still snowing there, looks like they got a foot last night. Fun stuff.
