It's the leccy tape that gives it away as a half arsed attempt. Now if you'd used a couple of boomerang shaped sections of olive wood and some roofing screws...then I'd have said JobGood

Use double stick tape so you don’t have tape across the face of the friction material. That’ll just end up gumming up the works.

If clutches were the kind of thing that were easy to do on the side of the road, I could see this making sense in the abstract . Stuck a long way from home, clutch only has to work like four times, that kind of thing.
