Dont get me wrong 3/4 of the tools in my shop are Pittsburgh, Chicago Electric and Central and they serve their purpose great.
But why the marketing wank with the coupons? We know we're not going to shop without a coupon so just be honest about them.

I regularly buy there without coupons. Just not something I’ve ever expended effort on.

I certainly have never paid full price for anything there. The only tool I thin k I have at this point is a 3 ton hydraulic jack which has been trouble free for years.

Yes I needed a set of female trox sockets for the BMW and didn’t have a coupon at the time. Although us ually if you don’t have coupons they’ll find you one.

All I know is that my dad’s garage is full of all the free items. He has so many of the little LED lights and magnetic parts dishes that it looks like he’s hoarding them.

Min e has multiple coupon books when you walk in. I have bought a few emergency items at full price. Sewer snake comes to mind but I always walk out with something free.

Nothing is ever full price at HF; e verything’s on sale, and then they discount...but that’s part of the schtick. JC Penny, a few years ago, tried to do away with sales saying that they were adjusting prices downward, thus no s ale was needed. Even though folks were paying the lower price, JCP still sold less. They went back to an artificially raised price with the discount.

You’ve never bought at full price because it was never sold at full price.. https://www.thepennyhoarder.com/deals/harbor-freight-class-action/

I get at least 2 coupons a week in my mailbox, so no. I always keep one on hand in case I need something. I always get one of their “free with purchase” items too. So far I have 2 flashlights, the head strap led light, 2 sets of screwdrivers, a tarp, and a magnetic LED work light. The goal is to have one of everything to keep in each vehicle.
I’ve never really saved much. The most expensive it em I’ve bought from there is a folding aluminum loading ramp (which makes loading a lawnmower a breeze) . Saved $20 on that one, everything else has been lower priced items.

Typically I’ll buy something that I need that weekend, so there may not be a coupon or I can’t be bothered to look. I will always check the free coupons, though. An extra tarp is always handy.

Nope, but I’m happy with my Pitts Pro impacts and the US General box. No different than my wife with the 40% coupon at Hobby Lobby.

Couple of times I forgot to bring a coupon. That’s my #1 disposable glove store :P

Nope, but that’s common marketing for a lot of things.
However, I’ve usually been happy with their stuff, especially their torque wrenches, especially their sale prices.

I have, on occasion, but I don’t buy a lot of stuff there. I view their products as one-time use: buy it for the task at hand and if it’s still working afterwards, well, great. But yeah, when I’m in there I usually get whatever version is “on sale”. Not that I’m some great craftsman or anything, but i just prefer the usability and quality of good tools, even if used. But if I need something RIGHT NOW for one task, like my license plate issue last month, HF is an OK source.

I’ve probably bought some cheap items. I don’t especially care if I’m paying $5 or $7 for something that would probably cost me $12 (from a similar low-quality brand) at Home Depot.

It is funny how they even had a lawsuit for fals advertising as they had items that were never “normal” price.
