Our season (Texas Region SCCA) doesn’t start until the beginning of March. The BMWCCA has the first event of the year ne xt Saturday, so maybe I’ll do that if I’m bored.

We don’t start until May, has been hovering around zero all week.  I only made it out once or twice last year, hope to get out more this summer

I never understood why Texas waited so long for the season to start . The chances of snow are so low it’s silly.

It’s pretty cold in SoCal too. Not as cold as you’re dealing with, but my summer tires are feeling pretty slidey.

I’ve been racing with them for years, that’s the day of our SCCA banquette and the venues are over an hour apart. I’m sure there’d be enough time to make both but I’m not sure that I want to bother with all the travel for a just for fun event. I’ll see what the weather looks like, and how I’m feeling. I’m doing a bunch of trackdays this year but not very many autox events (30+ trackdays on the schedule and only about a dozen autox events).

We’ll have provisional winter events, but the other issue is that February is pretty booked with other events like our banquette and 1-2 Club Race events. Our first event of the season is either the last weekend of February or the first weekend in March each year (depending on which days they fall on). Apparently, Valentine’s day (or weekend) isn’t a popular time to autox and that knocks out a weekend, we lose another to our awards banquette, and the first two weekends in February are pretty dicey as far as weather goes.
