Honestly I thought these looked bad when they launched but they don’t look as bad any more now that everyone else has jumped the shark on automotive styling. I also can’t recall even noticing one on the road which is odd considering how well Camrys sell.

Give it 3  years. Camries usually look good for the first 3 years, then become ubiquitous and you stop noticing them.

Honestly the whole aggro sporty styling is totally out of step with the idea of a Camry to me but I’m not in the 4-door family sedan market anyway.

The only problem I have with these (and most every other modern Toyota) is the predator grill.  Aside from that, I can get behind them.

Good car?

Yeah. I can see that.

Good LOOKING car?

nah, too much mess to overlook. The front end is ridiculous, and the C-pillar is not very well resolved for the black roof treatment.

Nissan Maxima pulls off the styling better, although it needs the side roof spars blacked out entirely. there are black gaps on the A and C pillars , and often a black roof center panel, but the sides of the roof stay body-color, when they should be black.

Not sure the Nissan would be as solid a car as the V6 sporty-package Camry, though.
