This has proven to be a damn fine investment.

Kinja'd!!!

now I’m not a mechanic, nor am I an electrical tech, More of a “fix-man” than anything, and I model my operation on Harry Tuttle. “fuck your work order, I’ve got shit to fix”

things I’ve been surprised by with the bluedriver:

-It’s noticed the lack of rear door speakers in a truck that’s supposed to have them

-A/C blend door malfunction

-power door lock, stuck in “unlock” in drivers door, stuck on “lock” in passenger door. (this was true, the doors were confused).

-In addition to standard 0bd, it’ll tell you how far out of spec an O2 sensor etc is.

-failed window regulator.

I bought it because when you swoop in from nowhere and hack into the main wire harness, then leave, you are married to that vehicle until death sets one of you free. It’s saved me many headaches. “Well it was never like that before you touched it” is not uncommon, everybody wants something for nothing so I can definitivley say: Here’s the 13 codes on your ecm, I definitely did not disconnect all 4 oxygen sensors nor did I steal the cats that are missing inthe hour I was here.

Most people are quite reasonable, but this is effective skunk repellant.

I bought one when my E90 had a rough idle and was down in power. It let me know it was an ignition failure causing a misfire on cylinder #1. I didn’t specify if it was the coil or plug, but with the car having 114,000 miles I just replaced all six of both.

It’s also pointed out that I need new rear break pads which I haven’t bothered with. And let me know why my stability control systems failed last summer. The code was “air gap to large on front left wheel speed sensor.” So I’m thinking a road or dirt got in there and messed up the sensor. It “fixed” itself within a few weeks, but the code was still in the system 8 months later

Looks pretty nice but it says the enhanced features won’t work with my Volvo, so I’ll stick with my $12 model.

oh yeah, V olvo makes you pay. I haven’t had the opportunity to try it on a V olvo Car.   Their semi trucks are delightful to take apart.  (and Volvo/Mack have an obd2 style port.)

Yeah that’s great if all you want to do is pull codes. I wanna see scan data and do an ABS bleed.

the 1995 and a half require a GM TECH2 interface, or just a book of matches.
