I got my new Marathon JSAR and had a quick strap change mid-week. Now it’s on urban camo strap, from some company which knocked of Barton strap design.
And my new Vortic watch arrived! Movement from 1918 by Illinois, their A. Lincoln movement with 21 jewels and 5 way adjusted, in a solid bronze 46mm case - made in Fort Collins, Colorado with 100% US sourced parts. Dial has amazing patina and the bronze will patina within weeks to a deep, dark finish.

Thanks! It’s a tank - 156 grams, I could use it as a weapon I think. It’s made for NATO and it has a GS requisition number so it’s a real military watch, not just a wanna be with right looks.

The Vortic is awesome, and prompted me to go spend way too much time playing around with their watch builder.

That 2nd one jus t makes me want a vintage watch that much more. I’ve been wanting a Swiss watch for quite some time and I have pretty much decided it will be a vintage Omega or something along the lines.

Vintage American pocket watches are the bomb quality wise. They are built amazingly, and the movement decoration on fancy pieces is to die for

They have a lot of character. I want something that's super different from what everyone else is wearing. I've been looking at some vintage stuff, I just can't pull the trigger quite yet.

That's quite impressive. I haven't come across anybody with a marriage watch as of yet, though I have seen a few online that I like. That may be worth looking into as well.

Other good options are Weiss and RGM, but they cost just as much and are not unique, but are quite nice.
Vortic is just in an another league with their concept and execution.
