A classic, non-digital, timekeeping device on the dashboard. Cannot be changed into a pressure gauge, cannot be changed into a radio display. It doesn’t change color. It cannot be moved around.

It has one function. Tell the time.

So, what new (2019 models) cars still have such luxury?

I think most luxury brands still do, other than BMW.

My favourite is the one in the new Panamera which rests at 00:00 until you open the door and it winds itself back

OK, that is a legitimately attractive timepiece, I wouldn’t mind having that on my wrist. Lincoln really cheaped out on the clocks in the later Town Cars, very plain and plasticy.

Better question: What modern car comes without a giant screen in the dash, even in the top model?

Ford Transit Connect has the basic button radio system unless you opt for the SYNC goodies.

But only in the low end models. You can’t get the nice interior without a screen.

Valid point. My basis was my TC now.

We looked at them for quite a while. I really loved the van, but the touchscreen is very close to a deal breaker for me, I hate them. I will say Ford at least gets it right by still having tangible buttons for all the functions, so you don’t have to use the screen.

I fit two bedrooms worth of furniture in the back of mine when I moved. I love this van.
