Superbowl Supra ad based on a pinball machine or something

Yeah, not very creative given all the years of speculation and hype.

So was the entirety of the halftime show

Best performer in Super Bowl LIII

This Kia commercial is even worse.
![]() 02/03/2019 at 20:34 |

That was really bad. Taking a neat internet idea and just shitting on it just made it worse.
![]() 02/03/2019 at 20:36 |

So fucking bad.

Deep cut right there.
Not quite Apple:

Pretty disappointing, barely any actual driving but at least there was some engine noise piped in! The Telluride commercial was more intriguing.
![]() 02/03/2019 at 20:38 |

It made me actively hope that the Telluride fails.
![]() 02/03/2019 at 20:40 |

Trying too hard. I thought it was a truck commercial first.

Whoever made must n ot actually play pinball. In pinball you get points for hitting a ll the bumpers.
I do love the Who though, and Pinball Wizard is one of my all time favorites. I have no interest trading in my BRZ for a Supra though.
Full disclosure: I’ve never been a Supra fan. I don’t have much interest in Japanese Mustangs or “GT” cars in general. Sure, they look cool (sometimes) and many have great stats, but a heavy car is a ruined car.
At least A merican muscle and pony cars bring plenty of power to offset their heft and do it at a budget price.

Yeah, it did remind me of past bad truck commercials (Chevy? Ram? Who knows/cares?)

3: 0 put some points on the board already GOAT schmoat

Pinball though?
![]() 02/03/2019 at 20:46 |

I honestly took offense to it.

When was the last time Toyota actually had a good commercial? I still can't believe how cringe inducing most of their ads are.
![]() 02/03/2019 at 20:50 |

I was distracted during the Supra commercial, and missed most of it. It was dumb. The Kia commercial just irritated me.
And, yeah, first responders are awesome. No one denies this. But what the FUCK does this have to do with Verizon????
![]() 02/03/2019 at 20:50 |

It just made me irrationally angry.

Same old same old same paint by numbers feel , look , music , voiceover by a kid or a gravely manly man everything. It’s getting real cringey IMO -” We country folk. We salt of the work. We work hard and quietly and dont show off. Murrican honest to God blah blah blah” Trucka Ok fine but that for a Kia Telluride is even worse.

Seriously? I had a huge grin on my face because it was clearly an homage to this old MR2 commercial.

It's been a lackluster night overall
![]() 02/03/2019 at 20:53 |

What that commercial needed was a guy popping in at 0:20 and saying it was a Tide ad.
![]() 02/03/2019 at 20:56 |
|
Yeah, that’s more like it.
![]() 02/03/2019 at 20:57 |

“meh” is aspirational at this point.
![]() 02/03/2019 at 21:01 |

I thought this Tacoma ads were good. Just show the truck doing truck stuff and people enjoying it
![]() 02/03/2019 at 21:04 |

I hate that - they’re all global mega-corporations, not a mom-and-pop shop building trucks in a barn, FFS.

I was born in 85. Perhaps that explains it

As a whole, this year has been one of the most meh in a good while as far as ads go. Pretty much goes along with how the game is.

LOL He definite ly spun out at 0:46. They just cut it before he came to a full stop.

Who do they think they are? LandRover? Put a Kia in a stream and you are walking home...
![]() 02/03/2019 at 22:15 |

holy crap, it really is a Z4 with a bad aero kit
![]() 02/03/2019 at 22:41 |

Yeah, I have to admit I didn’t see them all, but what I saw was for the most part pretty boring.
The golden football "name that player" ad was kind of fun just to try to figure out who everybody was, quite an A lust of players. Best ad was in the pre-game with Peyton Manning and John Malkovich, but I don't know what it was for.

Verizon cut service to a bunch of cell phones of first responders in an emergency area during the recent fires in California... or something like that. I forgot the reason why.
