I woke up with this in my head. This is from their brief 2 record major label deal that came from the Nirvana bump.
The older I get, the more I realize that the Meat Puppets are my favorite band. My wife and I saw them live couple of years ago, and it was one of the top guitar playing live shows I have ever seen. I have seen Santana, Van Halen (2x), Slash at a club, BB King (3x including a nightclub show), the Allman Bros., Rodrigo y Gabriela and many many other great guitarists live, and the Meat Puppets are easily a contender for the top. Ok, one more from that same record:

BTW, my summer list of car events is starting to come together. Any California Oppos interested in joining a little road trip to Sonoma for Radwood? It is part of something called Hooptiecon that looks fun. Plus, there are so many roads I can plan between here and Sonoma, and I am thinking about going through the Delta. I used to do a lot of work up there, and I know cool back roads that r un along the tops of the levees, and I may even stop in to visit an asparagus farmer I know.

Hoopticon is put on by the Lemons guys. You should have a great time.
When I was in college from 93-98 I had a show on the school’s radio show. The Meat Puppets were on regular rotation. It started with Backwater, but the rest of their stuff was good as well.

No joke! I’m going to have to dig out my Meat Puppets now.. probably throw in some S creaming T rees for good measure.. Be lucky if I don’t end up moshing to Mudhoney by noon..
