I think walking would be better than driving a Dodge Journey

I thought a 4/slu sher was archaic in my 08 chevy. How is this a thing in 2019?

Keep building it if it keeps selling. My question though is who is buying them so they can keep building and selling them?

It’s 2019 and Dodge is... coming off of multiple years of approx. 100k sales of this car for the year.
We know it’s hot garbage, but c redit is cheap and for some people, being able to bury negative equity on a trade is worth it.

I drove that thing 600 miles.
It is sooooo shit. The gearbox is maximum mehtitude but it isnt the worst part of the car. That would be the throttle pedel mapping.
I think what they did was setup the 1st 20% travel to correspond to 80% of the total TB opening. So, when you go on the throttle to start moving from a stop, the thing takes off like crazy, but if you want to overtake someone and go max throttle, nothing happens.
uuugh i hate that thing....

Yeah... that’s also something else I don’t understand. It’s literally people who don’t care what they drive, and just want something “new”.

They still build them like that because it’s cheap and people keep buying them.
I would take one of those over a 3cyl Lifted-Fiesta Ford Ecosport

In Canada you can still get the Nissan Micra with a 4-speed automatic.

God, I love the Journey. Gears as low as the credit scores that buy them!

The 2019 4Runner has a 5 speed auto still. I feel like that must contribute to it’s awful mileage.

Those people would be better off buying used. And if they were going to buy a new car, I’m pretty sure that Mitsubishi and Nissan are happy to sell to people with terrible credit looking for a cheap new car.

These must be really popular in the Midwest or something, but they're a pretty uncommon sight here.

Are you sure? They’ve had a CVT here for the current and previous generation. The K12 of the 2000s had a four speed.

It’s only available on the Mexican-built Micra/March (along with the 1.6 litre four cylinder, while the rest of the world gets a three cylinder of some description). I believe the Mexican-built car is only sold in Latin America and Canada.

That’s interesting. We’ve gone (and I should know, my mother has had many of them!):
K10 three speed
K11 CVT first with an automatic clutch, then a torque converter
K12 four speed
K13 CVT
K14 CVT

See, now you’ve gone and done it.
If you keep running, you might be able to keep ahead of the guy trying to deliver the Journey you just bought for zero down until it’s into repo.
