Update in a week when I get back home to see it for the first time. I have my fingers crossed that it’s equipped with the locking rear diff.

Nein. That’s guaranteed financial ruin. This one has the downright reliable (in VW speak)  4.2 V8.

I have a 2005 V8, and yes that engine is solid.

Hopefully the previous owners kept up with water drain maintenance/drainage. I’ve had little electrical gremlins start to pop up in the last year ....driver heated seat no longer working, slight battery drain, etc but otherwise it’s been solid for me for over 10 years.

Looks like you got the Xenon headlights?  Nice.  Is it a salvage?

buying used VW’s will do that, I know from experience, but we can’t help our selves, right?

That’s always the issue with auction cars, maintenance history is usually unknown. The good news is that this one is a clean title.

This one seems pretty well optioned, with what looks like the cold weather package, air suspension, xenons, etc.

I work with a lady that had a v6 one of those for years - loved it but finally ended up with big maintenance bills and traded it in on a last gen Tiguan

Yes the V10 is guaranteed financial ruin. Whereas the V8 is only a coin toss between happiness and bankruptcy lol

Jesus... why??? There are so many options out there.

I had the 2004 V6 in 2004 - bought used with low miles. Drove it until it showed even 48k miles and traded it in the same day - that was the day warranty expired . That car spent more time at the shop (under warranty) than the rest of my cars combined in the last 20 years. I wish you good luck.

When it comes to luxy off-roaders there are quite a few options, but, considering I paid a small enough amount  for this one,  I can (somewhat) justify it.

I honestly can't believe these came with the VR6. It's just adding slowness to your insult and injury.
