Don’t mind the passenger side pic where my silly self missed the lap belt somehow. It’s unbolted now!
Anywhoo we stripped the doors of all wiring, disabled the power locks per ARA rules, and we are preparing it for the newest mod; manual crank windows. A friend in the DSM community that is actually local to us is selling a set of manual regulators and I snapped them up instantly.
So that helps cut weight further and simplifies the car more than we expected. The doors are fully gutted and we are even discussing Porsche style door handle pulls. Simplicity always wins for me.
Over the last few days I ordered factory Evo beehive valve springs and retainers, ACL race bearings for the crank and rods, valve seals and the little necessities we need to freshen the 2g 7 bolt.
The car will be getting fresh paint this week where required as well. Stay tuned!

Looking forward to seeing the finished project. I feel like there’s always been a bit of a dearth of rally DSMs (at least in my experience) , which is strange considering how well laid out they seem to be for the task.

That’s kind of how we felt too. We figured why not, we have the car and we know the platform. It was just destiny haha

Is the plan to start out with some Rallycross events, or just jump right in to stage rally?
