The other day I used the Assistant to google a local pho place, which has pho in the name. The assistant pronounced it “fuh.”

To the best of my knowledge, “fuh” is the correct pronunciation. There was an uproar earlier this year (can’t remember where) about a restaurant named “Pho King Great Food” because of the pronunciation.

It’s not perfect yet , there’s a main road near my office called Gude Drive that’s pronounced “goo-dee,” but Google Maps says it like “goo” with a D on the end of it.

Reminds me when I had an iPhone and I tried to get directions to Giordano’s.

Our answering machine pronounces words in ridiculous ways all the time. It pronounces “unavailable” as “oona - VAY- LAH-bull ”, for example. It’s become a running joke in our family.

I don’t think they have any Ecosports, but maybe their AI can see them driving around and recognize them for what they are.

Siri still stumbles over my last name. It has a fairly uncommon 3 consonants in a row (msk) and Siri drops the “m .”
