Or it this just perception because it’s got like 24" wheels?
Honestly, it has almost the same proportions as the original quattro (just much bigger).
Shame about the grille.

Its so low its a tall wagon. This thing might steal sales from the RS6 sadly.

It’s probably no lower than a Cayenne, it’s just
massive.

I parked my wife’s ‘07 X3 next to a modern Subaru Outback and the roof height was so close I couldn’t see a difference.

Unpopular opinion, but I like the grille. Fight me. Also, I think it looks more athletic and much less bloated than it’s Q7 sibling. Might just be the colossal 23 inch dinner plates.

What the difference in ground clearance between those two?

Looks good in profile. The grille is objectively bad.

Yup, that’s why I actually like it a lot. The grille is a bit much though

yup, its coming full circle. we won’ t get back to full wagons because the hip height is still super important to people, but we’re going to get darn close.

A standard Q8 is only 67.1 inches high...less than an inch taller than an outback.

Boomers need high H-points!
Unrelated: starting to get serious about replacing Mrs. addiction’s MDX - Telluride is current front-runner, but still need to get test drives. She wants captain’s chair in the middle this go-around.

Crazy, but the Outback’s clearance is much better, right?
And the Outback includes the roof rack (standard on all trims).

Really does look great in profile, but give me the RS6 Avant.
Come on, depreciation! Would be amazing to pick one of these up in 2025.

I don’t mind the grille but it kinda just looks like nothing’s there unless you get a good detailed close-up view of it.

The design & proportions are playing tricks on you. It’s still tall like a crossover.
I don’t know how much the RS version has been lowered vs the regular version , but this C&D article lists its height as 67.2" which is the same as the specs for the regular Q8 on Audi’s website. If the RS suspension is lower then maybe that number is actually a little less.
For sake of comparison, a regular non-AMG Mercedes E450 wagon is 57.7" tall.

Yeah, it’s just huge.
