We haven’t done very much, I’ll just start there. But the power steering is in, it was made from 1970's Dodge parts to fit this truck. When we messed around with the truck originally I knew my arms were not cool with no PS with a 6500 pound truck on 38" tires. My friend is a body shop guy and is fabricating a really nice patch for the cab corners. The corners have been repaired a few times, probably what the military calls a depot restoration. It was also in the Army Corps of Engineers and MA Fire, so they all may have done this. But as you can see he has made a really nice piece to replace all that crap.

He is a perfectionist, he did my Z dog legs and they are perfect. I often have to remind him this is a military truck so we can dial it back a bit. But yeah he isn’t a bad friend to have.

Great to see progress in any case! I don’t get much done on my truck every year, but it’s a driver, so I try to prioritize one thing every year that will make it better to drive, or safer (that’s been a clear priority so far). Last year we improved the brakes and I put new shocks on. That was about it until next year.
Got any more pics of the current state of the thing? I’d love to see more.

Well the bed is basically done and he is moving on to the cab so we can paint all that. It’s still sitting with the bed off, have to look at the radiator, fuel tank, heater etc... We are putting in an electric fuel pump and spin on filter, ignition etc.. Hopefully by the time it’s warmer we can take it to the DMV. The gears are changed so I have to run those in too.

I thought about a Kaiser but I really wanted something older. I love the WWII trucks but they have no doors!
