Am dead. But managed 3 miles in half an hour on the treadmill which I’m stoked about! Some of that was a brisk walk, but still! Also did 25 flights of stairs on one is those moving staircase thingamajigs. Made myself more dead. Now I’m going to eat a burrito and ice cream and undo all of my hard work! Have a picture of some adult Legos from work for your time.

Yep, I just started working with a trainer last week after a few years out of the gym. This time around the soreness only lasted a day or two. She tells me I gotta hit the treadmill to lose the dad bod. Ugh. Getting older sucks.

I’m blessed with a high metabolism so dad bod hasn't set it yet. But damn I can feel the age!

I found if you want to really up the cardio without much impact on joint (which does add up) cycling is pretty good for that. + the distance covered makes you feel a little better.
that said, running is better for cardio. I can do 15 min on the cycling machine without much burn to my lungs, my legs start to fail first.
but running? I’ll do a mile in 8.5 min, but my lungs are BURNING.

Impacts add up for sure! I'll definitely be doing a bunch of cycling and maybe elliptical but those feel like cheating. I used to get shit splints real bad from running all the time so I might only do treadmill like once a week. Goal is a under 6 minute mile and climb St. Helens in the spring again to board back down.

I JUST
started running this week. given how badly I was panting at the end, i think i might switch to this for cardio. thought
cycling really helps with the legs.
I really need to get arms and chest bulked up. I;’m 5'10" at a WHOPPING. 150lbs. clothed. So I need to get on that. Goal is +10lbs of muscle by Feb 23rd. If I can get to that, I’m treating myself to a sleeve tattoo then.

There are some climbs I want to be able to clean on the mountain bike too, so definitely going to work on cycling, and the stair thingy. As for the impacts; get proper running shoes professionally fitted for your gate, and toe-striking instead of heel-striking makes a difference too but takes a lot of calf muscle and is very tiring when you're not used to it.
I’m an inch taller but about the same weight, and have been for 15 years. Only things that have changed in that time was that I lost some muscle and gained a bit of fluff. But going from training for track and lifting weights every day for fou r years and then stopping cold turkey will do that. I’m just lucky she hasn’t hit me harder.

Here’s a really good way to put on muscle and build strength quick. Assuming your kidneys are in good working order, adding some creatine to your diet will help with the routine.
