Nothing under the tree?  Sappy needles on the roof will be looking festive for weeks!

You wouldn't be saying that if you knew what the roof looked like under the tree.

My dad never protects his roof when we do the tree. I cringe, and there are some small scratches (nothing to the paint, you can’t even notice unless you’re looking for them ), but definitely we’ve never had a problem with sappy needles. Might depend on the tree variety I guess.

Yeah I've never had an issue with sap. I suppose if you broke a bunch of branches getting it up there you may have some, or if the stump cut isn't fresh.

Oh Mazda Tree, Oh Mazda Tree,
How rusty are thy fenders*

* Not yours in particular.  It seems to be a common problem though.

It is a common problem. I have a little bubbling on my hatch door.

Nothing is more festive than a tree strapped to a small car.  The only thing that could possibly be better is if the proportions were off, like a Mazda 2 and a tree that is 50% taller
