Again it’s that magical part of the week called Friday...

Tonight’s beer is an IPA called Brewtiful from a German brewary named Schwarze rose.

On a different note, I am apperently going to be in Chicago beginning of January...

On a scale from 0 to a Russian gulag, how cold is it going to be?

Chicago in January can be anywhere from 45 F to -20 F.... and windy b/c Chicago. bring a jacket.

That’s my dilemma,

I’m a functional dresser, which means I don’t have excess jackets.

On the one hand i have a sort of fluffy on the inside soft shell from Colombia that handled well a Bavarian winter.

On the other hand, i heard the wind chill in Chicago in unbearable...

So im not sure if I should buy a thicker jacket beforehand...

They really try to perfect everything they do. I wandered into a proper spaghetti shop in Tokyo with real Japanese cooks. I don’t think I’ve had better spaghetti in my life (yes, I’ve had proper Italian raghou too).

C annabis is legal but government stores are far too expensive. But I would never purchase it illegally... anyway the Ontario government fucked up the rollout big time and most people still purchase through traditional channels.

Anyway this batch was on sale (it’s funny thinking about reduced prices on cannabis but I’m not complaining) so I bought an ounce which will probably last me several months. I can’t remember what the strain was called but as soon as I cut the vacuum seal my apartment was filled with the scent, but luckily it’s not one of those nasty skunky scents.

I don’t know what it is but it’s incredibly strong. Great for a quiet night in.

Yeah cannabis is in a strange half life in most of the countries that sell it legally.

Even in Amsterdam where it’s technically legal, it’s just technically legal, and growing it is still illegal.

Two key thoughts; The cold and wind cut right through anything you wear. Gloves, Winter hat, and socks/boots are probably more important and easier to pack than a massive ill bought jacket.

Grab a jacket from a thrift shop if you will never use it again. Wear it onto the plane. Good down is fairly light, poor synthetic insulation can be either. Remember key thought the first and prepare accordingly.

This very expressly means leave the softshell at home.
