So will anyone in North America notice the demise of the Buick Regal?

Probably not.

The Insignia's just got a mild facelift, not that many will notice

I’m just sad the wagon never came north of the border.

Buick is so far off my radar, I don’t ever really think of them.

It doesn’t help that my brother had a Chevy Sonic with problems from day one even though he bought it new and my friends with Chevy trucks have so many problems with them one of them won’t buy a Chevy again.

Basically GM isn’t a brand I’d consider buying from. I applaud them for trying a wagon here but I wouldn’t have bought one anyway. Not that I can afford anything new anyway.

I won’t miss this because we never really got it:

I’m still halfheartedly looking for a TourX, but it’s just not the same.

Yeah, it’s a loss of a longstanding US nameplate. I remember Regals going back to the 80s. I live in the midwest, where Buicks and Regals might be more of a thing but there was a time when they were everywhere. My dad had one as a work car for a while. The Buick Grand National and GNX were based on the platform that was also the Regal car.

Today’s Regal is a nice German designed and built car - very little of what you might think of as ‘GM’ in there, for better or worse. In fact, the TourX is one of the very few Euro wagons we can get in the US. The others being E-class wagon, Audi Allroad, Panamera longroof (sort of a hatch more than a wagon, but still), and now the RS6 avant - all of which are at least 50% more expensive than a TourX. Also Buick comes with a great warranty and there are dealers in practically every town you might come across in the US. It’s a shame we are losing a good wagon and car option but it just isn’t what the market wants, and GM sold Opel so just not meant to be in the US.
