I’ve been using Google Fi for about 6 weeks or so. I hadn’t set up voicemail for several years (if I want to talk to you, you know to send me a text if I don't answer) , but Google Fi does it automatically, and also automatically makes hilariously bad transcripts of the voicemail. This is the best one yet.

How is Google Fi? I’ve been thinking about switching to it.

I’ve been really happy with it so far. I had AT&T for almost four years, and half the time I couldn’t get enough of a signal in my own house to make a call, despite living in a major metropolitan area. So far, no issues with Google Fi.

I listened to the actual voicemail, and not a single word of that transcript was actually said. The message was completely innocent.

I have Verizon and don’t have much coverage issues, but unlimited data for basically the same price I’m paying now would be nice.

I had Verizon before AT&T, and was happy with it. I went to AT&T to save money, but now with Google Fi I seem to have the same quality coverage as I did at Verizon , at an even lower price. We don’t use much data, so I didn’t go for the unlimited plan. Unlimited talk/text is $35/month for both mine and my wife’s phone, and then it’s $10/gig for data. We rarely use more than 2 gigs a month. Neither of us streams anything, and we’re usually o n WiFi.
Now, I haven’t traveled anywhere since I got it, so take this recommendation with a grain of salt. My buddies who live in the boonies of SW Wisconsin and NE Iowa swear by US Cellular, because their frequency does a better job of dropping into the vallies. US Cellular is one of the company’s towers that Google Fi uses, so I’m looking forward to trying it out next time I’m out in the sticks.

The voicemail to transcript thing for my phone is usually pretty accurate, i guess don’t always work out. It’s so much more convenient than listening to the actual message.

That reminds me of when I tried google voice voicemail back in 2010 and received the following message from an unknown number as I was boarding a plane. I had to wait until I landed again to actually listen and figure out what it was. I don’t remember the real call, but it was nothing like this transcription! Glad to see google transcription is still up to it s old ways...

It is cool. I’ve only received three or four voicemails. The other ones were accurate enough to get the gist. This one ... not so much.

LOL!
I’ve only gotten three or four voicemails since I switched to Google Fi. The others were close enough get the gist, but this one was just hilarious.
