who else is working?

I’ve taken a ton of “on call” shifts, where you are responsible to respond to after hours emergency claims. I’ve signed up for 5 weeks straight. Normally we only do it a week every two months.

Why? Money. Winter sucks, might as well make some cash.

Currently, I’m sitting in the Kia providing security for a loss until an actual security guard I hired can get here. The fire department usually releases a scene to an adjuster and makes you sign a notice of responsibility detailing things you must do. Fire watch was one, so that’s what I’m doing.

AMA I guess. It is going to be a bit I think.

Do you have a Targa pic at hand?

I need motivation to finish this chapter of cost accounting.

Kinja'd!!!

This should have been 16m long. Fortunately the supplier cut it so it’s their problem. Just welding a bit on the end isn’t a really a solution. Luckily the site this column  is for doesn’t need it for a while.

So I must be stroking out, but what units are these? Looks like meters and centimeters/millimeters, but what is 15 m equal to 900 of?

The 900 scale is in milimetres  for the current metre shown in the red. In this case it’s showing 15915 millimetres or 15.915 metres.

Is the cost of the Security person on you and then you get refunded, or is it paid directly by the insurer?

You know, that common unit that’s equivalent to 1/60th of a meter and 5/3 of a centimeter? The one that subverts everything that makes the metric system convenient?

Cubits? I don’t know.

Typically I authorize it via a general contractor and they invoice the GC who then invoices the insurer via me.
