I had a chance to take the fam to Kennedy Space Center last week after Thanksgiving Day, where I could geek out and take pictures of big tall pointy sticks that at some point in time squirted fire out of their bottoms like a good habanero. And, despite KSC’s best efforts, some of the pictures actually turned out somewhat decent.

Everything on this next set was taken from the bus’s dirty tinted windows and took some effort to fix the color cast and loss of contrast.

Now I have to arrange another visit during a launch.

Cool! Interesting to see what’s changed since I was there in ‘98 .

It makes me feel old to see a spacecraft that was new and exciting when I was child and billed as reusable be a Museum Piece but here we are.

I used to have a poster showing a landing of the Enterprise in one of its flight tests. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Alas, the reality was that the shuttles were unnecessarily large, complicated, and compromised beasts, and calling them reusable was a stretch given the extensive refurbishment they received after each mission. Nevertheless, a shuttle landing still seems to me a more graceful and impressive feat than a Falcon 9 landing.

I’ve mentioned this before, but I dug out a coffee table book of USAF/USN/USMC aircraft to show to my cousin’ s boys, who are the same age I was when I got it. 90-95 percent of the airplanes in the book have either been r etired or will be within a few years.

Cool, thanks for sharing the link! This was my first time at KSC, so I can’t say what has changed over the years.

I too used to shoot on Advantix, and still have some negatives stashed in a cabinet. They're not my best work by far, though.

I took my Niece to the Air Zoo in Kalamazoo 6 years ago and there was an F14 and a F18 on display there and I felt old.
