Today I'm thankful that my water is paid for as part of my HOA dues

Kinja'd!!!

My shower head snapped off last week and I haven’t had a chance to replace it. On the plus side... The sheer volume of un-restricted water has been quite nice, e ven if the hot water tank is empty after about 10 minutes. Gotta hand it to this building— for all of it’s faults— water pressure and GPM are up there with the best I’ve ever experienced .

Taking advantage of black Friday Amazon sales, I o rdered a mishmash of M oen and S peakman products in various finishes to put together a Frankenstein shower system. Should all be here on Sunday, although I’ll still need to figure out where to mount a wand. Solid brass or stainless steel everything , high flow-rate (limiters will be removed anyways...), what looks like quality internals. I'm excited. Should be fun to put together too!

Now maybe I’ll finally get around to the much-needed bathroom remodel!

...in a few years.

We’re currently selling our house and its shocking (embarrassing ) that a lot of the issues   brought up in the home inspection are things that existed 5 years ago when we bought it and we intended to fix.

It’s amazing how you can learn to live with things....

Isn’t that the truth. I’d be curious to hear some of oppo’s “I always meant to fix that...” stories

Just to be clear though, I don’t live in a dump. Sometimes it is the cheapest/easiest stuff that gets put off forever.

Our balcony sliding door has no handle for example...and I know I bought one for it 5 years ago....

The same concept applies to vehicles. I love my pickup, but after I fixed the exhaust, brakes, and window regulators, I said "good enough!"

Yeah, I kinda half assed the paint on the light rack on the fiesta. It was "temporary" 8 months ago

A good part of my day today will be spent wrestling with our house pump  setup that has frustratingly begun to leak repeatedly.  It's water we just can't afford to lose...

I'm debating on buying a custom $900+ leather jacket tailored to my fit and tastes. Hmm...

Do you know where it's leaking from yet? Bad o-ring, or....

A perfect fit and solid materials are worth $$$. If you’d wear it a lot, I say go for it.

Assuming it's with a tailor and not an online fitting?

Here’s what I was doing last night- my wife is so demanding, she wanted running water for Thanksgiving dinner. Jeez.

It was leaking from the hose tail attached to the pump outlet. Turned out the hose end was deformed by the old hose clamp so water was able to get past the brass tail despite the clamp. So I had to cut the end off the hose and start again.

It's sorted now but it's aggravation I just don't need...I just wish it would rain.

Yep, we forgot to list in the seller disclosure that our pool heater was broken. We live(d) in Texas, it had been broken for 5 years but we literally never used it (so how did it break?). When did we remember? When the home inspection of the house we were buying in Florida turned up a broken pool heater! Yes, we got a purchase price adjustment on the Florida house. No, we haven’t got the pool heater fixed yet. Yes, we disclosed it in a supplement on the Texas house. IDK if the new owners fixed it. lol

I like a good de-restricted shower head but an open 1/2" pipe almost seems like it’d be too much volume

One or the other. Haven't decided the brand, will need to get a tailor to grab my measurements.
