What do those of you in warm climates do for overflow refrigeration on Thanksgiving? Here in colder climates the garage, or back deck, works great for keeping drinks, a brining turkey, or the odd Costco pumpkin pie nicely chilled without using up valuable fridge space. You just have to make sure it’s not too cold out so things don’t freeze.

let everyone bring home left overs and/or shove everything in the fridge, even sideways :)

When I lived in Maryland my family always had a chest freezer in the basement as well, which provided plenty of overflow, so it was never really an issue.

Putting stuff outside can be an issue though, in U pstate NY, we once had a cake eaten by squirrels.

My wife can Tetris the shit out of a refrigerator, but I think even her skills would fall short today, and we even have an extra dorm-sized fridge to work with. We would be down to coolers and ice if Mother Nature didn’t provide.

Isn’t it tough to keep stuff from freezing? Also, a nice car hole provides protection from ravenous squirrels, though we did once lose a pie to a Great Dane.

Well you put things in that will be ok a specific temperatures, or that can be reheated.

Garage might have been smarter than the porch, but the porch was convenient.

There’s been a hole in the window screen in my kitchen since I bought the place...pretty sure the old owner had some inside food eaten by squirrels.
