I’d not been able to get my colleague’s car cleaned for at least four months because of family, health, work, weather, etc... .
In that time she’d bought a new car. A nice black Volvo V40.
Looking a bit in need of a wash.
Started with the engine.
Then onto the car. Snow foamed the car, rinsed, did the wheels then the body and sealed with Adam’s H2O Guard and Gloss.
Interior got a vacuum and anti bacterial wipe down.

Might you direct me to the best way of buffing a scratch off my V50? It’s Barents blue metallic & I’d like to know if there’s a clearcoat-sealing pen I should go for.

Happiness is a clean Volvo.
I don’t think I gave this its own post, but I did my 850 a few weeks ago. My buddy helped me, he’s really into Chemical Guys stuff. I can’t remember what all we used, but we washed it with a foam cannon, Iron-X’d the wheels, clayed it, then used some new 2 stage cutting/polishing compound that’s supposed to start aggressive and then break down as you work it to polish. It did wonders on the 23 ye ar ol d paint. Unfortunately it got dark before we could finish, but the next day I hit it with Meguiars wax. Interior rebuild is in progress, still need to replace the door cards.

Does the scratch catch your finger nail if you gently run your finger down it?
If not, us a light to medium polish and going along the scratch rub the polish back and forth, now run the cloth and rub at 90 degree angles to the way you were, then return to rubbing with the scratch. This should remove the scratch or lighten it to so you can’t see it unless your looking directly for it.

Looks so much better for it.
The colleague was really happy with how her V40 came out, which is always nice.

Thank you. Ill get interior shots soon.
And Im glad she was happy, you did a great job, as usual. I like those smaller V40s a lot.

Lol. Thanks. I thought is was sufficiently obscured to not have to edit the licence plate. Doh.

Hahaha. You did a good job with the car, but I just like messing around with that type of stuff. I purposely made it a photo so a Google search of the number wouldn’t link to here. I’m so smart and considerate!

If it still helps, I’d say I just slightly felt it with
my thumbnail.

Ye’, you’ll feel it, but it didn’t catch your nail in that it slowed your hand’s progression down.
It should come out with a light hand polish, just go along the scratch for a dozen or so passes, then half a dozen passes at right angles to the scratch and repeat for a couple of minutes and the check, repeat if necessary.
