She took it easy initially and I went to sleep (middle of the night road trip) . Then the left lane campers slowed her down and she passed on the right...which is when she learned she a pparently likes when it goes the vroom.

It’s fun seeing someone who previously didn’t get it, get it.
Now that my wife is actually driving more she keeps commenting about how “ badass our car sounds”
... A far cry from a few years ago when the 7 series was running open headers for a week and I was told “I’m not getting in that car again until you fix the exhaust”
:)

Hahaha. I was driving my mom in the Abarth once and needed to turn left into traffic. Mom, trying to be helpful, “ok, it’s clear but go quick!”
“NOT THAT QUICK”
(She does not get it.)

First and foremost, 7 series running open headers - wowzas
Yes! She is slowly getting there. She enjoyed driving the Miata, but she’s never had actual power and actual good car noises.

lol, it was a fun week if not a bit anxiety inducing.
Notable moments were being stuck at a light in what amounts to an alley, basically under a bridge, directly next to the Vancouver PD. The acoustics were phenomenal. Even at idle I thought for sure someone was going to come running out of the building to harass me. E ven tipping into the throttle as gently as I possibly could produced a roar I thought would have them chasing me down for sure. Especially after the annual “It’s summer, police are cracking down on loud vehicles ” (ie; Harleys) campaign.
They didn’t even blink.
Another was being lined up at a light with a Veloster Turbo in a different city. The light turned green and we both went WOT, lifting roughly around the speed limit and immediately thereafter passing a cop sitting on a side street. Long story short, I went by way first and was obviously the source of all of the commotion , so he followed me most of the way home before turning off without bothering me.
Then it went back together, albeit a bit freer flowing than stock. Still loud, but not open header loud.
I miss driving that thing. The wife hated it though, time and money suck that it was/is.
