A possible contender, the GLE.

Well, it appears !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Since I am going to continue to drive my wife’s hand me down V6 Rav 4 with 200+ on the clock...

She needs a new child hauler.

Our immediate thoughts are:

Buy a used 2018 Diesel Jeep just like this one. It was a great truck especially after the tune.

Buy something new, I guess.

Sadly, the requirements list is littered with my wife’s needs (WHAT JUST CAUSE SHE DRIVES IT EVERY DAY?!):

Seats 5 minimum, prefer 7 or 8

SUV/ground clearance

AWD/4WD (real 4wd gets bonus points, the Jeep had the OR2 package and we I loved it.)

If it has leather seats they must be heated/ventilated

Reliable, we’ll put 35-40k miles on a year. We are religious about upkeep but it can’t be in the shop all the time.

Life expectancy of 200->300k (See above)

Bonus points for the best self driving / drive aid tech (she commutes obviously) so anything that can make it less exhausting (lane assist etc) to commute gets bonus points.

Not electric, if gas it must be flex fuel capable (bonus points for being obnoxiously badged as such). If diesel it must not be obnoxiously badged as a diesel and be sold as also a gas model.

Must be able to tow 4000 pounds.

What would Oppo do?

Acura MDX? Lexus RX350/350L? Although if you really liked the jeep then get another

I’m partial to Grand Cherokee’s, just love them, but could totally understand maybe wanting to get something different.

A CPO X5 Diesel is an option if you want to stay in the Diesel game. Although I don’t think you can get them with Ventilated seats.

Oddball suggestion - Kia Telluride. If she’s looking for something bigger than 5 passenger, this seems like a great value option. Could be at least worth a drive.

Don’t care much for the 3.6 or the 5.7 engine options and if we’re going to go that big again we’d like a 3rd row (and we I mean her, I hate even the thought of a 3rd row which is useless to normal humans and saps usable cargo space).

I hadn’t thought of the X5 but I’ll look into that. Sister just bought a Q7 and those are nice too.

We’re going to go look at / drive a Telluride but I have a hard time saying they’re good for 300k, and the depreciation is... astounding on anything with a Kia/hyundai badge.

CX-9 is in the running if we go smaller (mid-size vs full size).

Suburban is an outside option but that’s more than I’d prefer to spend.

We’re going to drive one (along with a 4Runner) but she opted for the V6 Rav4 back in the day because of how slow the 4cyl was so we’ll see. Toyotas have good reliability marks for me for sure as well as having decent self driving functionality.

Lexus is out, no Lexus dealership within an hour of our house (3+ hours is nearest).

Meets all requirements. 2500s ride very nice for what they are, and the mega-cab is yuuuuuuuuge inside. A little light on self driving tech, but when you stop giving a shit about running others over in your big ass truck, your commute is remarkably stress free.

Dodge Durango is basically a 7-seat Grand Cherokee, minus a bit of the off-road clearance, but probably better on-road.

Drove one when we bought the Jeep as she wanted more seats, suspension (at the time, 2014) sucked compared to the Jeep with air ride. Was super harsh and the inside noise levels were terrible in comparison. We’ll probably look again though it hasn’t changed much.
