I went and looked at a Triumph.

Yhe owner was very nice and let me take it for a short test ride. I liked it, but I didn’t love it. The triple sounded great, and it had smooth power that seemed to just keep coming. But I didn’t really like how it felt to sit on, and the biggest issue was it just didn't have the emotional impact I look for in my irresponsible purchases.  It needs to get my pulse going and it needs to make me smile when I walk up to it.  This just didn't do that for me.  I think I may not be a naked bike guy, or maybe it is just this one.  We'll see.  But this will be a pass.  The Ninja makes me happier than this would.

I still think the only bike that will fully check off everything on your aforementioned list is a BMW. I won’t even mention the fancy sidecar for your wife until you come around.
