The general aviation fleet has a pretty good safety record, and fatal accidents are trending down over the last X years. But if you look at the piston fleet vs the turbine fleet, yeah the piston guys’ accident rates are much higher.

They were truly awful, but they were everywhere for a few years. There’s a showroom fresh X-11 and a dead base 2-dr (also mint) in my neighborhood. Every time I see them I ask why.
