FWIW , Steve — who I don’t think I’ve seen in a while — was ultimately dissatisfied with his ownership experience of a 4x4 Renegade (his was auto, I believe).

It’s a bloated Fiat 500 Abarth with all the problems and few of the benefits.

Idea: is the Fiat 500X the ultimate cheap ski trip car?

No. You can’t get the 500 X in AWD with a stick.

Owned a Renny Sport 4x4 manual. It was fun! Wrote a huge review on it about a year ago. Same engine as the Abarth, so lots of things you can do to it. Might get one later after the 200 is paid off.

That was good. Now I'm looking at those a little differently.

I’ve driven the trail hawk version with the NA 2.4L. Kinda liked it.

There is a decent aftermarket for them as well; turbo accessories, short throw kits, lifts, skid plates, etc. T hey may be very underpowered, but are a riot to play with.
