I just replied to a proposed solution diagram with this. So far I feel like I’m winning at Monday, but it’s early yet.

When the hybrid battery fail, if you are keeping the car , look into having it rebuilt /rebalanced. That’s usually under 1k. Actually, just Goggled, $300-700 used on eBay. Reconditioned and installed (it’s a high voltage battery) $1400 so lots less than $ 4500. S till not worth it, b ut it is what it is. We're at 41k on a 2016 (with the 100k subie warranty) and we might be trading at some point soon.
