I’m a big fan of this channel. Perfect way for us to still be learning stuff about history in a way that doesn’t require a lot of time (I’m finding that time management is critical the older I get).

Very interesting. My boat was taken to Sarnia Canada as a bare hull back in 1959 to be outfitted. As I’ve renovated her, I’ve found a lot of “square headed” screws holding the wooden interior together. I think we in the USA call these “deck screws” instead of Robertsons. I’ve used Phillips head screws in all my work. Learning about the history of these screws has brightened my morning. Thank you.

That's a good channel. His naval history videos are great.

Square or Torx for everything in my world now. I curse every time I come across a Philips in anything but very lightweight applications (like toy battery covers)

I feel like Phillips is a fine design if it’s good hardware, but with the advent of cheap C hinese hardw are made out of shit metal, I’ve learned to hate them.

I love stuff like this.
I like the ones on British electrical plugs.
and also stuff like why clocks are varying in time from the U.K. to mainland Europe.
