Yeah, its going to be a helluva show.  its one of things where its baby steps then giant leaps all at once.  There is no sneaking up on the speed of sound, you kinda have to strong arm it.

Yup, you can tiptoe up to transonic speeds but once you get there it’s full send or nothing.

i would imagine they will test the rocket separately without the jet spooled up to verify its repeatedly reliable. then use it in limited instances. i’m sure they have to test transonic behavior before seeing M1.4
