This E Class is marked for towing, and you’d better believe they have all the info on that Jersey driver. Take off the cone and drive away before the tow truck gets there, and you’re in even more trouble. In this case, the guy was too close to the in tersection (where I work) - E 39th and Madison. And the wheels are not correct. I love cars, but geeze, we have enough traffic. Leave it home and take Jersey Transit in.

That doesn’t sound right or like it makes any sense? It’s not even booted. Who in their right mind would make such a law?

don’t they just
ticket or boot?

Cones are placed when a street is marked for plowing, leaf cleaning, or simply parking on the wrong side (we have opposite side of the street parking days to facilitate garbage collection and the like). Booting it isn’t going to happen - they want it gone. And it was, when I went downstairs to get decent coffee.

Yeah but I doubt they care if you move your car before the tow truck comes. You already got your ticket, and the car’s gone whether they tow it or you move it. Just putting a cone on top to mark it seems like a pretty good system, instead of the parking officer having to wait for the tow truck to show up.

Was there a ticket on it? It looks like whatever is there is on the inside of the windshield .
Not sure how they can enforce someone moving the car before it’s towed, other than sending an additional fine. But how would a p erson know they can’t move their own car? Most of the time in NYC I thought a cone on top of the car meant don’t tow this car.
T hen again, I know better than to p ark illegally in NYC.

Yeah - you don’t fuck around here. And I believe you have to go all the way out to Queens to get your car after bailing it out (costs hundeds).

And the clear glass gates w/ dots on them, and the shitty bathrooms, and ... ugh. At least there’s a Pret and a Chipotle nearby.
