When we last left off the discussion of seats, I had installed my new drivers side seat

Kinja'd!!!

it is a blue and black affair to tie in with the Integra seats which are in a fabric known as “blue confetti”. The front seat is a doddle, the Integra and Civic of this gen share a lot of design, and these bolt right in.

Kinja'd!!!

the rears however, while still bolt in, require some fettling

You will need rear seats from two different cars. Here we can see the upper and lower portions from a 2-door Integra in place

Kinja'd!!!

The upper section bolts in, and retains the fold down feature. But the lower portion sits awkwardly, with a big gap all around.

The solution is to use the upper section from a 2 door Integra, and the lower section from a 4 door. But finding the Blue Confetti pattern, which was a GS-R model specific has been right hassle. An hour away I located a set, but the pictures looked to be the Grey Confetti, but he assured me it was blue.

Kinja'd!!!

well, they’re not blue :S BUT! they will fit. and will be an excellent place holder instead of the light grey civic rear base, which as you can see below is an abomination.

Kinja'd!!!

So my search will continue for the blue four door integra rear seat base, but for the price I paid, I’m well happy with the dark grey piece for now

Since the guy I met was parting out a full Integra I also snagged some black Acura branded floor mats

Kinja'd!!!

and a gauge cluster with an 8k redline.

Kinja'd!!!

which looks (I think) substantially more handsome than the existing cluster), which redlines at 6k. The EX cluster which will be swapped in with the EX’s engine redlines at 7.2k. But in the long run I’m planning a B-series swap which will redline at 8.2.

Kinja'd!!!

Of course mounting the Integra cluster requires some custom work, but I’m !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! a new path here, it’s been done !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! The only downside is a slide cutoff of the two side gauges as seen here in someone else’s car

Kinja'd!!!

So what else? well I started work on my custom headliner. I marked out the essential cuts to the stock headliner, and laid the console from a Jeep Cherokee in place

Kinja'd!!!

then fibreglass around the edges to fill the gaps and solidly mount it to the headliner

Kinja'd!!!

then, do a lot of sanding

Kinja'd!!!

then, abandon it on the roof of your car until more spare time magically appears in your life

Kinja'd!!!

next steps are to fill and smooth with bondo. then lay over the new fabric.

prior to meeting strangers on craigslist for car parts, I took the family to see puppies, discussions are ongoing as to whether my existing puppy desires a play friend

Find a good upholstery shop and have the blue inserts stitched into the gray seats. Easier and cheaper than finding 4 door blue interior bits. Never liked the confetti myself, I like plaid ;)

yes! plaid in the Gold GTIs is the best option!

It would be ideal to recover all the seats, perhaps lets call that a long term goal :D

or to find the matching fabric and recover the rear seat base to match. it’s just been impossible (so far) to find anyone making the fabric or even similar

I did do a photoshop of just such a thing. I think it’d be pretty neat to have the inserts on the aftermarket seat match. and as they are removable and basically just rectangular pillows I can do that upholstery myself.
