PM: We are planning on doing this.
Client: Got it. Can we add in having the contractor bid on options A, B, C, & D to see which is the cheapest.
PM: We’ll have to do full design on all those. We won’t make schedule or budget.
Client:.........We don’t have the money and time can’t slip.
PM:........
Client: So we can do those multiple options, yes?
PM:Technically but we need budget and time.
Client: Can we table this and discuss at a later date ? Don’t stop work.
A real call I’m on, right now.
For your time.

“ We don’t have time, but let’s table this for later.”
Sounds legit.
Time to watch this again:

Exactly. Let’s make major project altering decisions later in the schedule when they are harder and more costly to implement.

I had the same conversation yesterday, but my clients understands reality and offered me more money and time. Not much more, but more.

Used Kia Rio’s have monetary value? I’m surprised. I assumed they were just totaled out when they needed an oil change.

I’ve been wanting to bitch about work and you just gave me the perfect outlet! We are going through a massive churn right now - we’re told our product isn’t customer- centric and takes too long to create.
The solution management came up with is to change the way we interpret data to a method nobody understands, and then create a new reporting format that actually requires twice as much work as the old format, but hey, it’s in a different order now!
And then we use Snuze as the guinea pig to try all this new stuff out on his very first time managing a project.
Btw, did you get the tires mounted up?

I did! Didn’t realise I would have to buy a TPMS “learning” tool. At least they are cheap.

Nice! Those look pretty good on there! Can’t wait to see a full pic.
Did you try the air pressure “ trick” ? Years ago I had a Chevy Cobalt and the owners manual procedure to l earn the TPMS was to set it in learn mode and the DIC would flash up a code like LF (Left Front) and you’d go let air out of that tire till the horn chirped. Then the DIC would flash the next tire code, so you’d move to that tire and repeat the process until all 4 were done. Then of course you’d have to put air back in.
So when I bought the Cruze I checked the manual for the tire rotation procedure and it said you “need” the tool. Well for whatever reason I tried the air pressure procedure and lo and behold, it worked! And I saved myself $20 on a tool. Now that I think of it, I need to try that on my wife’s Terrain.
