I’ve no idea where or when the photo was taken. Only that HMS Ark Royal is in the background and the setting appears to be a port or harbor of some kind.

We’d have to ask
Matt Brown
, but I’m pretty sure HMS Ark Royal was an automobile.

Definitely taken before 14 November, 1941.
Scapa Flow?

Scapa Flow is relatively flat I think? Maybe Gibraltar? could be someplace in the Caribbean too I guess. If the hill weren’t shrouded in fog it would be easier to identify.

I’m sure our European Oppos will know better but I’m just going to guess Austin Seven.

I looked up pictures of SF, and there are some elevations there. I also wondered about Gibraltar. Ark Royal spent quite a bit of time in the Med.

Looks like it might be an Austin/American Bantam?

Unlikely on British territory, but maybe an Austin 7.

Gibraltar, perhaps? Those aren’t civilian Limeyland plates anyway. I suspect the car is British.

Table Bay or Gibralter I guess. Doesn't specify but both mentioned.

Looked a bit newer than that to me, which I why I thought of the Bantam. Austin under the skin, at least. Didn’t most 7s have wire wheels?
