My Vehicle Excise Duty is due next February. £145 (AUD$271) for a 1.5TSi.
Which is the standard really for all cars after 2017-8.

I just mine for my car and it was $60 for two years. But Missouri gets you with Person Property taxes annually.
Trade in value of car x 1/3 = assessed value. Assessed valve x tax rate 4.5% = tax.

That’s only €445. What’s it based on? Here a pre 2008 car more than 3 litres will cost you €1,809 pa or about A$2,900. A more typical 1600 would cost €514 or about A$825
Post 2008 we’ve been on CO2 based taxation which maxes out at €2,350.
You’ll be doing the NCT (safety and emissions) yearly
or biennially at €55 too.

You think that’s expensive? If I
had a 3 litre plus car built before 2008 it would cost me €1,809 pa
. Fort
unately I don’t!

I really feel like odometer and fuel taxes are the way to go, not registration taxes.
(High registration taxes encourage buying one car that can do everything, instead of the right car for each job.)

*Costralia. I've a bill for $903 pinned to the side of the fridge to register my Land Rover for 12 months.

In Pip’s state, it is a combination of a registration fee (based on the vehicle category) , a taxed amount and (predominantly) an insurance fee for injury compensation that is dependent presumably on the owner’s age and driving experience.
