I’m not gonna save a single post I made though. There were all shitposts. I hope we all end up on the same platform when this all settles down. I like yall.

I had some longer ones from a few years back (before writing long posts started feeling kinda pointless) but I’m still probably not gonna bother saving anything.

Was there really any reason for killing user pages? It just seems like retaliation for the whole Deadspin thing and Drew’s post to his personal page IMO.

WTF..I come back from vacation to this shit? What the hell did you guys do while I was gone?!
Not too clear on what happened but saw the drama over at Deadspin…is there risk that Jalopnik and other sites will be no more too?
Any efforts by folks on here to keep oppo alive on a different platform?

Here’s my understanding of the whole thing:
G/O was bought up after Univision sold it. New owners wanted Deadspin to “stick to sports”, which they didn’t want to do (the argument was that they had editorial freedom and had more views on non-sports stories. If these things matter isn’t really the point). They didn’t stick to sports. So their editor was fired. So the writers bitched and moaned, then shitposted and quick. Then comments on Deadspin posts were turned off. Now, it seems Kinja as a whole is being rolled back. Predition: all subblogs (Oppo, Groupthink, LALD, others) are going to be deleted along with all content. Then, main blogs (Jalopnik, Jez, etc.) will be shutdown. G/O is done for.
