I’ll have a Greggs.
Food that is inexpensive and fills you rather than makes you feel full for a while.
Two chicken pasties* , two corned beef pasties and four sausage rolls and a bottle of juice.
*though now Greggs call them ‘bakes’, because in the past some were called pasties, some lattices and some bakes depending on the filling. Greggs decided to call them all by one name, bakes.
Now while all the ‘bakes’ look pretty much the same, you can identify them by the pattern on the top.
Such as top row, second from the left is a chicken bake,
Bottom row, third one from the left is a corned beef bake

I was always amazed by how packed American fast food restaurants were in Europe.
Now I know why.
Over here we call those Hot Pockets ...

This may be blasphemy, but I cannot stand Greggs. Most US fast food at least has some sort of healthy alternative. Greggs is a giant pile of flavorless carbs no matter what you order. It’s basically a choice of “which direction would you like the slits on the flavorless crust? ” and “which mysterious filling do you want?”. Gag.
Granted, that’s basically the way I feel about all “bakes” and pasties. BTW - in the USA, “pasties” are a type of self-ad hesive bra. Sometimes they even comes with tassels .

Arizona has fantastic pasties restaurants founded by a guy from Cornwall. But this Gregg’s shit just looks like a hot pocket.

3rd down is a steak and cheese roll, and
4th down is a vegan roll.

Mmm, not necessarily. Depends how it’s pronounced; with a long “A” it means nipple stickers, short “A” is the food. And we’re well familiar with Cornish pasties in MI. My mom makes really good ones.

Is that one meal for one person, 4 meals, or ?

I’d say, about four lunches if you add a bar of chocolate or packet of crisps and a drink each.
But I woofed down the bakes and keeping the sausage rolls for later.

The filling is disappointment.

“
Cornish Pasties
” have
PGI
status, and legally must be prepared in Cornwalls to carry the name.
G
reggs was one of seven companies allowed to continue to use the name “Cornish pasty” during a three-year transitional period. Sounds like they decided it wasn’t worth the effort, and went with calling them “bakes”.

No. Only the Cornish bit is protected, not the use of the word pasty.
Greggs themselves said ideas to ‘align’ the use of names as some were called pasties, some called bakes and some called lattices.
Greggs started out in the North East of England as a bakery and every now and then they have re-evaluated what they do, and a few years ago they stopped baking bread and concentrated on offering bakes, and baguettes and soft white rolls with filling (like pre-made sandwiches).
