Down in the ABQ short term parking garage. Not a turbo but the nicest condition Z32 that I’ve seen in years. Not too many of these left that aren’t either decaying or wearing a body kit. Say what you want about how far these strayed from the original Z-car concept but I think the styling has held up really well.

I’ve always liked those. The 2+2 models look a little more awkward, and I’ve heard they can be difficult to work on, but I’d still take one.

Actually, I like the 2+2 Z32, where I didn’t really like the 2+2 Z31 or S130.
They still look fantastic, just need the t-top roof beams blacked out, and the JDM ‘99 front fascia transplant, and it is golden.
The under-hood environment is a bit tight, with such a low hoodline, everything is reportedly crowded around the front and sides... although the non-turbos may be slightly less crowded with less plumbing. In most markets some of the 2-seaters, and ALL of the 2+2 cars are non-turbo.

Tis’a nice example indeed.
I remember many years ago, on another general car enthusiast forum, there was an ABQ owner that had a beautiful 300ZX TT in the same (and very common) red. While my preferred car is light, like the RX-7 and original Z cars, the Z32 was a great platform despite its weight, and one that marked some significant but stable design choices. It did seem to lean in the Porsche 928, but did well to still stand on it's own.

I’ve always liked the z32, it’s just so much better than the z31.

One thing that I think gets overlooked when people talk about all of the Japanese sports cars turning into GTs by the mid-90s is how small the RX-7 stayed. It was sneaking up close to 2,900 lb by then end but the Supra, 300ZX, and 3000GT were all at least a couple hundred pounds more. Someone in town has a black FD and I’m still always amazed at how small it is compared to most other cars on the road when I see it in traffic.

Mazda can’t stand on the podium of reliability like Toyota and Honda, but they have fairly-consistently offered the lightest and most-engaging option in every segment they’ve entered.

One of my uncles had a first year Z32, absolutely stunning car. 2+2, t-tops, white over burgundy interior, manual transmission, non-turbo, Bose stereo.
ARE YOU TURNED ON????

Z32 lover here. Thanks for posting. I like to nit pick these cars so here goes.
The wingless look is never quite right. The chrome wheels are gaudy. Such a plain color when there were so many nice ones out there. The moustache is best when not body color. And as a non turbo four seater targa, it is the slowest of all Z32s.
Condition is amazing though, can’t fault it. Seems to be absolutely as it left the factory too.
It’s a shame when the surviving cars are the least desirable spec, so often it seems to go that way.
