This was on my lawn yesterday when I got home.  I suppose it could be the flag stone patio and landscaping, but I think it’s for our Halloween display.

We decided that, with the shed needing power, the current electricity wire to the house being on the small side and there being a need for a new property meter box to replace the one on the power pole... we’d just replace the lot.

There’s another trench to be dug in the background this week for a water line between the shed and house...

And if the drought breaks and the dam fills...maybe then we can have a garden!

Personally, from my experience in Texas, I’m shocked that there is a subdivision not called “Oak “ Maybe the Oak is implied with the forest? Those Texans are very proud of their live oaks.

I’ve two red oaks in front and one in back. They provide a great canopy and shade from the heat. The acorns piss me off though. One year my dad was battling the gas company, who made him cut down some lovely old trees on the property line. I collected about 30 pounds of acorns and gift wrapped them for Christmas. Told him to get started on the replacements.

I don’t care for live  oaks at all. They look so unkempt.

You know, after all the back and forth we did on that, and then the public handwringing over the neighborhood forum, they still haven’t been installed. Not a word about why or if the project is still on. Not that I’m complaining.
