Was my first time using the oil change valve
Not a drop on the ground and goes directly in to its original container.
Oil filter is on top so super easy access.

That settles it, I’m buying valves for my vehicles

D idn’t realize you could hook a hose up to those things. That’s super cool.

Or get an extractor. Just did my car this past Thursday night. Drove home, grab the oil and filter and extractor. Pull the dipstick insert tube, pump and let it go. Replace the oil filter while it drains and go do some yard work. Come back pump it some more and jiggle the tube a bit. Pull the tube, and add oil. No ramps, no crawling under the car. Very nice way to go. The top mounted oil filter cartridges are excellent.

I went with an ez-oil and a hose fitting

The Fumoto ones are available with and without the hose nipple. Seems like the only advantage of not getting it is slightly greater clearance if you are worried about hitting the valve on something.

Would be so tempting if I had a top mounted filter. As is, getting under the car to deal with the filter is much more of pain than draining the pan.

yeah - I’m going to have to crawl under and double check . The plug on both our rigs sits really pretty low - not a whole lot of protection from getting whacked by something... Looks like its tucked up a bit farther on that outback.

I have the fumoto, only problem I find is that's it takes a really long time to empty and I can't usually get my car high enough to fit a bottle so just goes into the pan, albeit cleaner than usual.

The ez-drain valves have the optional hose fitting that screws into the valve when needed. Hose stays on the hose fitting all the time. I think I will try to find valves for my pathfinder and for my side-by-side(plow vehicle)
