UPDATE: looks like these are actually wheel graphics on the new aerodynamic wheel covers ... Regardless, not a good look, and fake = stupid.

What I’m thinking is that they’re gonna put a fake wheel graphic on the wheel covers. I hope they don’t.. . I like the strangeness of the blank wheel covers.

I guess. Or the CAD design for the body was exported and given to a 3D modeler to finish things up. Just crazy that between the final designer, his/her boss, upper level management, the social media person, etc. - no one noticed how bad this looked and made sure it got fixed before pushing out to the universe.

I wonder how they’ll manage brake temperatures, they have a lot of issues as is keeping brakes cool in traffic. Now the y want to cover the whole wheel...

From what Arch Duke posted, it looks like it won’t be completely covered. Maybe it will have a little scoop of sorts to route some air while most flows cleanly past.

They’ve had the covers before and I don’t recall the brakes of that era failing more often than they do now. I wouldn’t expect any significant difficulties, even though the cars weigh more than they used to.

At worst, teams will have to get used to running larger brake ducts, I think.
