“full-length solar roof to help boost the vehicle’s range, and Fisker believes it will provide up to 1,000 extra clean miles a year [so, maybe 100 in reality]. It will also use carpeting made from abandoned fishing net waste pulled from oceans, as well as vegan materials for the interior”
They are really all in on this. If only they can make it reject electricity produced from coal or natural gas...
I do think it looks pretty good, though. Hope they have success.

I never understood the solar roof. I love in an area with abundant sun. The last place I park my car is in the sun. I feel like cooling the car after sitting in the sun would take more energy than the PV panels made.

It’s pure marketing.
They need to add a sail if they’re really serious.

Coal required to generate electricity for cars is still more efficient than individual ICE engines.
Plus, the grids everywhere will start getting a mix of coal + other (hydro, wind, solar, nuclear), which will make things even better. There’s no need to change every car on the road.

It doesnt generate enough energy to cool my fart. But it is a cool gimmick.

Yes, but not nearly
pure enough for those who want vegan interiors and for-appearance-only solar panels.
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

What if it had like an explaining solar awning that also covered the car!

Quite frankly, the term “vegan leather” annoys the living crap out of me. It’s fake leather, or synthetic leather if you want to be nice about it.
And it is impossible to create things or run them with no impact to the environment.
If you don’t spend money to support something that is very good, but not 100% clean/green/progressive enough, then there will be no companies in bu siness in the short term that can innovate to achieve that high green standard in the long term .

Yeah, calling something vegan is akin to calling something kosher/halal
. As soon as you hear that word, you know you’ve moved into the realm of religious-levels of purity.
What do people with vegan interiors do when they run over a squirrel? Pull over and immolate
their car as sacrificial penance?
