And I’m sure that I have a few more. I can’t seem to get rid of them if they’re dead or worthless, and I can’t resist buying another if the price is less than a dollar.
Some of these were gifts and some were thrift store finds. I think the most I paid for one of those was $10. I wear the gold Samsung Kappa most often, and that cost me about $0.75, new in the box.
One of the favorite things that my mom has somewhere around her house is a bag of old broken watches that she bought for a couple of bucks back in the ‘70s. As a child I loved looking at those old things, admiring the design and craftsmanship. I guess that all of the black plastic ones I have are the modern day equivalent of her bag of old watches.

Agreed. I have a very similar one on my wrist right now.
