I like Wendy’s and a cheap McChiken as an inexpensive lunch/snack. I just don’t see the appeal of chik fill Aye, I’ve tried it a couple times and it was kinda gross - but understand if there is a nostalgia thing going on or something. Honestly, I get the nostalgia thing for the original Burger Kind chicken sandwiches... but my wife hates them because she worked there as a kid...

When I was in high school, they had a burger called The Stacker. 4 small patties, four slices of cheese, bacon, and southwestern sauce. I would kill anyone here to have another from back then.

I hadn’t even heard of Chick-fil-A until maybe 6 months before they showed up in Bellevue. But man... That chicken is so good. I think the appeal is that it tastes like real chicken, and not fast food. But the meat is brained in pickle juice which is definitely love/hate. And the fries. And hash browns. And the customer service is quite literally miles above the rest. I’m guessing a lot more goes into training and management requirements than at the competitors’ places, and it shows

I rarely eat fastfood outside of In and Out burger, but was forced into a situation last week where I had to choose between Subway, Panda Express, McDonalds, KFC and Jack in the Box.
No way was I trusting fast food workers in Indio, CA, with uncooked food, so I went with Jack in the Box (the amount of sugar in Panda Express sauce makes me sick). They had a chicken club deal on their menu, and it wasn’t too bad. It was “grilled” chicken, not fried.

Now we live in a world where a McDouble — a value-engineered double cheeseburger, because you only get one slice of cheese when it was offered for years with two — now costs anywhere from 1.50 to 2.19 depending on your location.
We also live in a future where Jack In the Box is approaching shit quality. When I was a kid, it was the gourmet option of fast food.

There was a point when I couldn’t understand why people love Chick Fil-A. I thought it was overpriced for what you got.
Then I got a chance to really sit down and eat one, applied their tasty sauce and it immediately clicked this freaking sandwich is great! Along with their fries and I fell in love.
My favorite is the Chicken Sandwich Deluxe with Fries and 5 sauces packs.

1. Harvey’s buffalo chicken

Although I do agree that Burger King’s chicken is terrible. Also A&W’s chicken sucks, especially compared to their burgers.

My first experience with CFA was the last one for over a decade for me. It was at a youth group event and they love to give free food to such events (especially back then), so it was old, cold, and had been sitting in the bag for a while. That was ghastly. It was so bad that I refused to try it again until an ex-gf wore me down over the course of years. When fresh, they’re amazing, and the spicy ones are even better.

BK tastes like a Trump Rally :p
There’s a reason Chick-fil-A is doing well despite their anti-LGBT reputation. The food really is that good, and so is their customer service.
NO other fast food chain I know of provides service anywhere near CFA levels.
Pete Buttigieg, the gay candidate, eats at Chick-fil-A
Someone should make a chicken sandwich and customer service as good as Chick-fil-A but without the hate-funding.
Popeye’s had a chicken sandwich for a couple days, but they sold out quick! Also, CFA NEVER runs out of food,
except during their giveaways.

If you think the ones here have good customer service, it’s simply because you’re unaware of the locations in other places. In my opinion, the best one on the west coast is in Mission Viejo or Laguna Niguel. I swear that they must all be on some kind of drug there; nobody should ever be that happy or friendly to customers .
But even the worst ones are better than any other fast food place I’ve ever visited.

Jack has been going downhill for years. 7-8 years ago it was already below most others.
What’s shocking is how far Carl’s has fallen in recent years . It used to be up there with Wendy’s back when Dave was alive (before they ruined their menu by changing it), now it’s just okay.

Chick-fil-A’s sandwich can’t hold Popeye’s Chicken Sandwich’s jockstrap. And I don’t even think it’s as good as Wendy’s, TBH.
If you want a surprisingly good and cheap chicken sandwich, try the spicy chicken sandwich at Carl's Jr. (I don't know if Hardee's has it.) It's on the value menu and it's darn good if a bit small.

I don’t know how many Americans out there rarely eat fast food. Everyone I see at In and Out seems like they partake regularly ... We used to get it once a month, maybe twice niw that I’m back in school.
They pay their employees above our minimum wage and have vegetarian options for my kids (I’ll eat shit meat, but no way I’d feed it to my kids). Burgers are just as cheap as McDonalds but much higher quality (haven’t eaten Mickey Ds in fourteen or so years). We have Shake Shack here, but their burgers cost the same as something I can get from a real restaurant.

My guilty pleasure, which your post reminds me I haven’t had in quite a while, is the chicken & cheese sandwich from White Castle. Don’t judge me.
My favorite is a recent discovery: Steak & Shake changed their grilled chicken sandwich at some point in the last few years, and it’s gone from awful to really good.
And an honorable mention to the Cranberry Bacon Bleu salad with grilled chicken from Culver’s . Minus the bleu, can’t stand the texture, with the raspberry vinaigrette . Wonderful.

Also, if you want to try similar pollo asado, my marinade has similar (though not identical) results. Our nanny considers it the best chicken she’s ever had. She begged me for the recipe to try on her in-laws when they were in town, and they were shocked because she apparently has a reputation for not being able to cook.
