It just is.

Its a tall sucker. im guessing 31 inch tires and a 4 inch lift. I was also shocked to find how crazy cheap a 2 speed transfer case conversion kit is for these. Under $300 sans donor T-case! That makes these very affordable projects. If did a t-case swap, and you could custom fab a 5 link on these with a rear locker you’d have a very cable little home on wheels.

I think if I was going down that road I’d probably be looking at a whole new axle as the rears in these aren’t particularly stout, but Im sure you could find a ford 9 or GM 10 bolt that would fit.

The elevated captains chairs were awesome, but they helped give  the impression that if I pushed my luck I’d lay it on it’s side. Probably my favorite minivan of the era though.  One of anyway.

I know a fellow surfer/kiteboarder that has just what you speak of. He goes to Mexico like Scorpion Bay with it.

I’ve always wanted to swap in the GM 1/2 ton drive line into one of these, from the motor back. Keep the 4.3 V6, but swap everything else (700R4 tranny , NP241 T-case, 4:10 geared 10-bolts front and rear , run that sucker on some 33's. That would be bullet proof!
